Leah Jee's 2012 Total Wrap Up

Hello Everyone!

As I type this, I’m wrapped in a multitude of sweaters, blankets, a beanie, and actual shoes (not flip flops!) as I try and prevent hypothermia in the Midwest =) I hear that it’s colder in California today than it is here in the dead of winter and who would have ever thought that?!

It has been a very long time since I have sent an email out to you guys, and for that, I sincerely apologize. Has there been a lot going on? You betcha. Have I missed you all? You know it. Have I started my plan for musical world domination since we last talked? YES!

Here’s the skinny on what’s been happening in my life, and I’ll go back a little bit so you get the whole picture. 2012… wow, what a year. People say that there are certain years in their lives that define who they are and the direction that their lives go in, and let me tell you friends - 2012 was definitely one of those pivotal years for me in all aspects. I definitely felt the ebb and flow of life this past year. From personal to professional, it was a year of growth, heartache, adversity, challenge, love, adaptation, obstacles, travel, opportunity, and knowing that I can get through any situation with the love and support of my family, friends and fans.

2012, a year of epic highs and lows. Here’s a bit of why… At the very start of 2012, I had an accident in which I was unable to play guitar let alone move part of my left hand. EPIC LOW. After rehabilitation and physical therapy, I am top notch once again. EPIC HIGH. A few months into the year, I suffered some major heartache. EPIC LOW. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger and of course as a musician, always provides great fodder for new songs. EPIC HIGH. In the middle of 2012, I finished the production of my album, which is soon to be released. EPIC HIGH. I reunited with old friends, made some great new ones, and created new professional relationships that have carried me into a wonderful spot with my music. EPIC HIGH. I traveled from CA to the Midwest several times to visit loved ones and for work at my big girl job and to play just a few killer shows and had an absolute blast each trip. EPIC HIGH. In December, I had a photoshoot with the extremely talented Kate sZatmari and had my stellar makeup/hair done by Stacy Rosas. These ladies really made it happen, the pics are great, I love them both, and I made two new great friends from it all. EPIC HIGH. With the pics done, it’s on to making the creative for my website, updated logo work, my new social media sites, my promotional materials, Leah Jee merchandise, and my album artwork done and ready for the new release of my cd! EPIC HIGH! This weekend, I’ll sit down with my graphic designer Jonathan Warobick and hash out all the details and designs so we can get this party started. SUPER EPIC HIGH!

The most major of EPIC HIGHS that I have to share with you is this…. A life long dream of mine was fulfilled in 2012…. I was signed to a label off of Universal Records for digital distribution of my music. I can officially say that I am a “signed” artist for what it’s worth =) I didn’t want to say anything until I had plans to get this record out, and soon ALL of my music will be available online, through itunes and on every single platform there is! I’ll be released at the top of my game to over 500 countries, with my music videos out on VEVO, and all other sorts of digital awesomeness available and in the mainstream eye.

2013 – you will be my year!

It’s starting off with a bang, and I wanted you all to know how much you mean to me. How your support throughout these 10 years has been amazing, and how finally I can come to you and say – see what we did together guys? Thank you thank you thank you. You believing in me has made things happen. It set things in motion and made me believe in myself. I didn’t give up because you love my music. And I promise, as I’ve been saying for years now, I’m going to use this music to make the world a better place.

If you’re free on Friday Jan 4th (yep, that’s this Friday, yep again just about 48 hours from now) I’ll be playing a show in Milwaukee at BBC. It’s an intimate acoustic show with my very good friend and quite amazingly talented musician Carley Baer. Show starts at 845 with Carley and we’ll play until about 1130-12. I’m going to be playing stuff I never play… have never played… and might never play again! Along with some old favorites and new songs from the album. I’ll be joined by Phil Malko on some songs. Cover is $5 and it includes unlimited hugs.

Thank you again for not giving up on me. I promise I won’t let you down. LEAH JEE MUSIC in 2013 baby! That’s where it’s at =)

Love to you all and best wishes for this new year. Remember – Today is the start of your life. And so is everyday, so if today sucked, tomorrow is another chance! I’ll send emails more often and tell you more about the artwork, shoot and send preview pics!
